LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. .WELLINGTON, Aug. 22. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. Replying to Mr Eeldwick, the At-torney-General stated that the question of the naturalisation of foreigners in the colonies being made applicable to those who apply for the full privilege of naturalisation throughout tire Empire had been considered by a committee of the British Parliament in 1599, and by the Conference of Premiers in 1902, but nothing had been clone in the matter, and it was not the present intention of the Government to take further action. The Maori Land Councils Bill was rend a third time and passed. The Statutes Compilation Act Amend ment Bill was put through its final stages. The Council rose at 3 p.m.
