CRISIS IN VENEZUELA
LONDON, Feb. 25
The Washington correspondent of the Times declares that the friendly and skilful diplomacy of Sir M. H. Herbert (British Ambassador to the United States), saved the Venezuelan situation when Germany’s wanton statecraft nearly provoked a rupture. American confidence in Britain is restored, though Germany’s, restlessness still occasions distrust in her ultimate purposes in South America.
