AMSTERDAM, J fcoruary 25. Soldiers occupy the Dutch railway stations, and have been furnished with ball cartridges.

NEW YORK, February 26. Two hundred and ‘ fifty Virginia miners who are on) strike at Charleston, and armed with Winchesters, resisted the efforts of JOO Federal officers to -serve injunctions. Several minutes’ firing took place, three strikers were killed, six fatally injured, and three badly wounded. One officer was killed and two officers were mounded. Forty strikers, chiefly foreigners, were arrested.

The Otago Shearers’ Union is forwarding to flockmasters a proposal of conditions of labour. The hqurs are from 7 ami. to 5.45 p.m., with half-holiday on Saturday. The price of shearing flock sheep is fixed at 18s per 100.
