GERALDINE DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL.
A well-attended meeting of ladies interested in the promotion of a bazaar to provide a piano for the use ot the above school was held m the Oddfellows’ flair on Thursday. Mr Montgomery, the head master, who presided, briefly outlined the objects of the proposed bazaar, and stated that it was hoped that besides effecting its primary object, the purchase of a piano, the undertaking might produce sufficient funds to enable the committee to improve the school grounds by asphalting a portion and erecting shelter sheds. A motion that the bazaar should be held was carried with enthusiasm and the following were elected' an Executive Committee : Mesdames Montgomery (secretary), T. Sherratt Maslin, McColl, Pye, Finch, Bennington, Miss Pearson, and Mr Ritchie (treasurer). Several committees were set up, and heads of stalls elected. It was also resolved that the costumes should be those of an All Nations’ Fair. The date of the bazaar was fixed for the first week in June.
