NAPIER, February 18. The hearing ofthe charge of . murder against F. T. Moore was continued to-day. Mrs Fisher, wife of the licensee of the Clarendon Hotel, where the deceased girl had been employed, said there was nothing. to suggest that there was anything the matter withher when deceased left Napier. February 19. At the Suprfeme Court to-day the case against T. F. Moore for the murder of Lottie Ancell was concluded. His Honour in summing up said it could not be suggested that the girl had died from anything but what had taken place at Waipawa. The medical evidence showed most_ clearly that the cause of death was either air embolism or convulsions which occur: red at Moore's shop at Waipawa, The jury returned a verdict of manslaughter with a recommendation to mercy, the jury being of opinion that the deceased might have tampered with herself prior to leaving Napier. A sentence of seven years' hard labor was passed. . rmt
