NOTICE is Hereby Given that the undermentioned LAND will be OPENED for SELECTION on MONDAY, MARCH 9th, 1903, subject to the Provision of The Land for .Settlements Acts. Chamberlain Settlement, hitherto known as the Opawa Estate, the propert of J. S. Rutherford, Esq., situated about six miles from Albury Railway Station, which is 29 miles from Timaru on the Fairlie Branch line. The Settlement consists of Agricultural downs and Pastoral hills ; it is well watered and carries English and-native grasses.. The area to be offered comprises 19,112 acres, of which 6,950 acres is for Selection under Lease in Perpetuity in- seventeen sections varying from 106 acres to 916 acres, at rentals ranging from 2s to 7s 5d per acre per annum. The remaining 12,162 acres will be offered in three Small Grazing Runs, for lease for terms of 21 years, the areas are 1818, 4644, and 5700 acres at rentals of 2s 4d, 10.4 d, and lCd per acre per annum. NOTICE is hereby given that Leases of the ■ undermentioned Pastoral Runs will be offered for Sale ny Public Auction, at the times and places specified. TO Be offered at the Local Land Office, Timaru,, on TUESDAY, February 24th, 1903, at 11 a.m.— SIXTEEN RUNS, situated in the Geraldine, Mackenzie, and Waimate Counties, totalling 251,240 Acres. These comprise part of the Mount Peel Run ; Vowi Peaks Run, near Woodbury; Sherwood Downs, and Ashwick Runs, near,Fairlie and Burke's Pass ; Mount Nessing, Mount Nimrod, Blneclils, Otaio, and Mount Studholme Runs, on ( the Range extending from Albury to Waifnate; and the Waitangi and parts of the Hakateramea Runs, near Hakateramea. Also, on Account of the Canterbury Agricultural College— The Leases of Two portions of the Hakateramea Run. The foregoing Runs vary in size from 1170 to 49,250 acres, and the upset rentals from £IOO to £950 per annum. The Terms of Lease are iO, 13, and 14 years, from March Ist, 1904. TO be offered at the District Lands and iSurvey Office, Ohristehurch, on FRIDAY, February 27th, 1903, at 11 a.m.— ' FOURTEEN RUNS, situated in the Ashley, Selwyn, and Ashburton Counties, totalling 372,000 acres. These comprise the Esk Head and Lake Runs, near. Lake Sumner ; Snowdale and Woodstock Runs, near Oxford; Brookdale, Avoca, and Cora Lynn Runs, on the West Coast Road, between Springfield and Bealey; Mount Hutt, Winterslow, and Mount Somers Runs, near Methven and Mount Somers. Also, on Account of |the Canterbury College— The Craigiehurn and Grassmere Runs on the West Coast Road, and the Mount Possession Runs (2), on the- Upper RangitataThe foregoing runs vary in size from 6800 to 50,000 acres, and the Upset Rentals from £B6 to £IOOO per annum. The terms of Lease are 13 and 14 years, commencing March Ist, 1904. These Runs are offered under the provisions of " The Land Act, 1892," with the exception of those belonging to the Canterbury College and the Canterbury Agricultural College, to which the restrictions of the Land Act do not apply.
