New York, Dec. 20. A conference of leaders of capital and labour in New York elected a committee, with Senator Mark Hana as chairman, to try and harmonise the interests of both parties, avert strikes, and resort to arbitration when both sides are agreeable. Stdnby, Dec 20. A number of street sweepers have been dismissed. Others have resumed work at the old wages.
