Wellinoton, Dec. 23. Tho following is the Agent-General's cablegram, dated Loudou, December 21: Tho muttou market is depressed, and stock is accumulating. The average price of Canterbury is 3Jd ; Dunediu, Southland, and Wellington Meat Export Company, 3.1; other Worth Island, 2§d. Lamb is quiet, Canterbury, 4Jd; other brands, 4sd; Australia, 4fd. Many carcases of stale lamb are being placed ou tho market. 'There is a better demand for beef. NewZealand hinds, 4jd ; fores, 2£d. There is a good demand for butter. The Gothic's arrived in good condition. New Zealand butter is giving satisfaction to buyers at 106 s to 109 s. Cheese is firm. The Gothic's cheese arrived iu good condition, and is / selling at 49.3. Hemp is dull. Good fair ', Welliugtou, £33. J.anuary-March shipmoLt, £3olos. There are no transaction* of moment to record. Buyers have beea offering more freely for cocksfoot seed, which is selling at 40a.
