Crozier, water race ranger to the Levels County Council, with having diverted the water from the race running through his land, to the benefit of his own, and to the detriment of other ratepayers' property. Mr Eaymond appeared for the Levels County Council, and Mr Hay for defendant, after evidence had been taken Mr Eay niond said the Council did not press for a heavy penalty on Mr Hay suggesting that a light fine would meet the case, and his Worship imposed a fine of £2, with a solicitor's fee, £1 Is, aDd the expenses of one witness, 3s.
