CHRISTCHURCH STOCK MARKET.

At the Addington yards on Wednesday there were fair entries yarded. Cattle. — IGS head of fat cattle, mostly of good sorts, were yarded. There was a good demand at 20s and 25s per 1001 b. Good bullocks brought £l4, prims steers il9 to £l2 10.;, others £6 10s to £S 103, heifers £5 15s to £S 15s, cows £5 10s to £8 10s. Store Cattle.—There was a good sale for store cattle, 2.V-year-old steers brought £5 9s, 2-year-old heifers £3 10s, dry cows ill 1 Os to £4 ss. Fat Sheep,—About 6000 fat sheep were penned, including good lines of wethers. There was a brisk demand for freezers, but there was a drop of Is to Is 6d per head A few heavy butchers’ wethers brought 20s to 225, others 16s tid to 19s. Ewes sold irregularly, and showed a decline of Is to 2s 6d, there being an over supply, A few extra prime brought 17s to 19s Gd, good 15s to 16s Cd, others 11s to 14s. Fat lambs.—Six hundred fat lambs met a weak demand, and prices were easier, from 12s to 16s. Store sheep.—Two thousand two hundred store sheep all met with a good demand. ‘Wethers brought 15s 3d to to 17s 7d for forward, and 13s lOd for backward, good half-bred ewes ISs, others 12s 6d to 15s Cd, hoggets 12s lid to 13s -Id for good, and 9s Id to 11s for weak sorts. Figs.—Four hundred pigs were penned. Porkers were in good supply. Baconers and stores were short, and found a weak market. Oats. —Prime milling is in fair demand and all good and prime feed lines are readily placed. Prime milling is quoted at Is Sid to Is 9d ; good to beat feed, Is 7RI to Is Bid ; medium, Is od to Is Old; inferior, Is 3d to Is 5d ; sacks extra. Hides. —34<i to 4sd, according to quality. Tallow. —Rough fat, 11s Qd to 12s Gd ; rendered, 15s to 18a. Sheepskins.—Pelts, 6d to Is Gd; crossbred, Is 9d to s 3d | lambskins, Is to 2s Bd.

Potatoes.—Northers Derwents are offering rather more freely, but nearly all coining forward have been saleable at prices fully equal to late quotations. Quotations : Prime northern Derwents, £5 15s to £5 17s 6d per ton (bags iu ) > medium and southerners, =£s 5a to £5 10s (bags in). Chaff.—Quotations : Prime oaten sheaf, £2 10s to £2 12s 6d per ton (sacks extra) ; medium to good, £1 17s Gd to £2 7s Gd (sacks extra) ; inferior, £1 10s to £1 5s (sacks extra). DUNEDIN STOCK MARKETS. At the Burnside Market on Wednesday, the following business was transacted:— Eat Cattle.—2oo head of fat cattle were yarded, medium to good, only a few pens being prime. There was fair competition. Best bullocks sold at £8 10s to £l2 2s Gd, medium £G 10s to £B, best cows and heifers £G 10s to £S ss, ordinary £4 to £6 os. Fat Sheep.—Only 1527 fat fat sheep were penned. Good to prime wethers sold under good competition at equal to last week's rates. Best crossbred wethers brought 17s Gd to 21s, medium 15a to 17s, beat ewes 16s Gd to 18s 9d, medium 14s to 16s. Pat Lambs.—Only 131 fat lambs were penned. Best brought 12s 2d to 13s Gd, others 10s to 11s Gd. Pigs.—Only 150 pigs were penned, most of which were porkers and baconors, which sold at improved values.—Suckers brought 4s to 9s, slips 11s to 14s, stores 15s to 20s, porkers 22s to 31s, bacouers 34s to 495.
