Brisbane, May 20. The Duke prosouted war medals to South African soldiers. Tbo Royal party witnessed a fine aboriginal eoroboree last evening. The chief event to-day in as the laying of the foundation stone of the Anglican Cathedral by the Duke of York. In the afternoon 30,000 people attended the agricultural show on tho exhibition ground. The Royal party were present. 3 ill ay 23. A largely attended levee was hold by tho Duke of York at Parliament House, and a reception at Government House during the afternoon. This evening a civic concert brought tho functions to a conclusion. The Royal visitors leave for Sydney to-morrow. Svijnit, May 22. The illumination of Sydney next week will ho the finest spectacle witnessed in the Southern Hemisphere. The efforts of the Government and the citizens arc directed almost entirely to that end. Auckland, May 23. There arc active preparations at Rotorua for the reception of tho Royal party. Tho new bath house is in a forward state, and the main arch in course of construction. Tho Grand Hotel has been connected with tho telegraph system of the colony, to enable the Royal party to have direct communication with lh« largo centres. The first contingent of Maoris is now on I tho way to Rotorua. On their arrival war j dances will be ttie order of the day. i Wellington, May 23. ! The Premier has received advice from 1 tho Governor, who is now at Sydney, i stating that a decision has been arrived at, that their Royal Highnesses will return from Dunedin to Lyttelton, and leave the latter port for Hobart. There is no chance of this arrangement being altered. -
