It is announced in the Gazette that the Royal assent has been given to the Deceased Husband’s Brother Marriage Bill, which was passed during last session of Parliament. Henry Nelson Firth, Clerk of Court at Queenstown, has been arrested on a charge of theft of £IOO, moneys belonging to the Government. The proceedings were instituted by the Audit Department. NOTMANN, M.E., E.M.G., opposite Colombo Street Bridge, Christchurch.
