PRIMITIVE METHODIST CONFERENCE.
Stratford, January 19. .. The Primitive Methodist Conference passed resolutions in favour of choosing a common ground for selecting portions of Scripture to be read in school-books, but disclaiming any desire to interfere with the undenominational character of the Education system ; expressing keen appreciation of the outburst of patriotism . V throughout the colony, with a hope that * the war will be brought to a speedy termination in the best interests of tolerance, freedom, and justice ; and expressing great sympathy with the relatives of the Xew Zealanders whe have been killed.
