ENGLISH AND FOREIGN. London, Oct. 17. The steamer St. Zehoe, bound from Antwerp to Sydney, is reported in latitude 43.30, longitude 9.6 not under control. The body of Lord Farrar has been cremated. Paris, Oct. 10. The French Navy Estimates are 11,500,000 francs in excess of those of the past year. M. Waldeok Rousseau has directed the Governors of French possessions to abstain from expansions by conquest. The order has caused irritation amongst the colonial party. Manila, Oct. 15. The Americans have again defeated the Fillipinos, killing 200 and wounding 400. AUSTRALIAN CABLE. Sydney, Oct. 17. The spell of hot weather has been succeeded by cold in the shape of snow in Victoria and Tasmania. Parliament has been opened. Mr Lyne said that he hoped to close the session bofore Christmas.
