Pretoria, July 24. The Transvaal conspirators will only be charged with incitement to riot. Pretoria, July 25. Reluctance on the part of the Volksraad to concede President Kruger a free hand in regard to Johannesburg fort and the dynamite monopoly, has caused the President not to attend executive meetings since Friday, believing that he has lost confidence, and causing rumours of his resignation. Yesterday General Joubert, and Mr Schalk, chairman of the Volksraad, assured President Kruger that they still had the utmost confidence in him, and persuaded him to attend a secret session, when the Volksraad adhered to the cancellation of the dynamite concession. Capetown, July 24. Mr Schreiner asserts that the interpretation placed upon his telegram to President Kruger was completely erroneous. He was only anxious to prevent the premature passing of the franchise before the arrival of the Imperial despatches. London, July 23 The Daily Telegraph and Morning Post special cables state that Mr Hofmeyer, on hearing of Britain’s disposition to compromise, telegraphed to President Kruger that the South African Republic was nob yet out of the wood.
