During the opening performance of Fitzgerald Bros.' circus last night, Peart, while attempting a dive from the dome into a small tank of water, struck the edge of the tank with his chest aud died later in the evening. The impact was so groat that, according to medical evidence, anyone with vitality and energy would have beeu killed instautly. Peart was able, with assistance, to leave the tank. May 9. Enormous artesian supplies of water have beeu struck near Wallgett, yielding 5,000,000 gallons daily. They are the largest yet found in the colony. The Premier says that the statement by tho Minister of Agriculture that the Government would assist Mildura as long as necessary was not warranted.
