ANNUAL ELECTION OF SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
RELFIELD. Tin- Minnal meeting of householders in iho B 1 field school district was field in thi' schoolroom on Monday evening, 28tli April. The attendance was small, only twelve being present. The chairman of the outgoing committee read the following report ;—Your committee began their year of office with a credit balance of £2 ICs, and we leave you one of £3 12a 9d. During the year a path has been formed and gravelled from the gate to the school, and all necessary repairs to buildings have been effected. Our receipts from all sources to the incidental fund, including balance from last year, have been £2O Gs Cd, and our expenditure £lO 13s 9d, made up as follows Cleaning school, £7; fuel, £2 2s ; books, £4 18s 8d ; repairs to buildings and forming of path £2 7s 3d; stationery, etc., £9 155.” The balance-sheet was adopted, and a vote of thanks to the committee was proposed and carried. The election of a committee was then proceeded with, for which the following householders were nominated : Messrs John Counihan, ffm. Greenaway, J. Annals, David Pierce, John Sugrue, Patrick Burke, Joseph Quautock, James Bennett, John Murray, and A. Morrison. The result of the ballat was that Messrs Greenaway, Annals, Pierce, Sugrue, Burke, Quautock, and Murray were declared duly elected. At a meeting of the committee held afterwards Mr John Murray was elected chairman. It was decided to close the school for the usual holidays at this time of the year from the Bth of May till the Bth of June, and that the committee hold their meeting on the third Saturday of each mouth, at 7 o’clock.
