The Maiden Plate was won by Onward, and the Nursery Handicap by New Haven. The Caulfield Oup, of 1J miles, was won by Waterfall, with Trenchant second, Quiver third, and Monastery fourth. Other starters were Havoc, The Admiral, Devon, The Possible, Solanum, Atlas, Hopscotch, Preston, Bruin, Music, Bonnie (Scotland, Newman, Eiridsforde, Brilliant, J 5, Aureus, Bradford, Chesterman, Alpine, Taranaki, Royal Master, Damper, Ayrshire, Duhallow, Division, Mischief, Strahan, The Heroine, Miraculeux, and Te "Whiti. Hopscotch started as favorite at 5 to 1 against, and led until entering the straight, when Waterfall went to the front. The race was won by a couple of lengths, the time being 2min 36£sec. The Second Steeplechase was won by Dungan, Selling Race by Swagman and the Windsor Handicap by Bacchus
