TEMUKA ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the Temuka Roaa Board was held on Tuesday last. Present —Messrs J. Talbot (chairman), J. Fraser, F. Parke, and P. Coira. ACCOUNTS. Accounts to the amount of £259 3s 9d (including £ll4 4s 2d, half-yearly contribution to the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board) wore passed for payment. CORRESPONDENCE. Correspondence was read and dealt with as follows : From Mr H. Ford, for executors of late Angus Macdonald, requesting a correction to be made in the rating of run 199. The acreage was now only 1409 acres —not 2082 acres ; also, notifying that Section 28,160, comprising 910 acres 3 perches, had been sold to Mr David Shaw in September. The clerk was authorised to make the allowance on run 199, and to arrange for the rates between Mr Shaw and Mr Ford with regard to Section 28,160. From the Clerk County Council, stating that the Council had'decided to pay Id per dozen for small birds eggs, and i£d per dozen lor heads, and asking the board to undertake the collection.—Request to be complied with, and necessary steps taken. From the same, dated Nov. 15, stating that the Council had decided to continue poisoning for a fortnight longer, and advising that three sacks of poisoned grain and some small bags of it would be forwarded at once. From the same, stating that the board’s contribution to the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board for the half year ending 31st March, 1894, was £ll4 4s 2d, and requesting payment of same.—Passed for payment. From Messrs Andrews & Beaven, forwarding pamphlet on clover growing, of which they would ba happy to forward copies to farmers interested. From Mr A. M. Clark, for the Bank of New Zealand Estates Company, requesting that the name of Mr Henry McCully should be inserted on the rate roll for Section 13,904 on Eiverslea Estate, instead of that of the Estates Company, and from Mr Henry McCully, agreeing to the change.—Alteration to be made. From the same, asking that the name of Mr John Stumbles should be inserted on the roll for sections 22,108, 19,408, and 19,349, and from Mr Stumbles agreeing to the alteration.—Alteration to be made. SEADOWN FORD. The overseer stated that the Seadown ford in the Opihi had been again washed away by the last fresh, and was instructed to see after the river clears whether a new ford can be made there, and, if not, the chairman and Mr Parke to interview Mr P. Wareing on the subject again. This being all the business the meeting terminated.
