BURNT TO DEATH.
A shocking death by burning occurred at Broken Hill on Thursday afternoon. The clothing of Mrs Frank Stubbs, wife of a well known sharebroker, caught fire under very extraordinary circumstances. She was standing in front of Messrs Boan Bros.’ warehouse, inspecting some drapery exposed for sale, when a lighted match on the pavement ignited her dress. She was qmc’dy enveloped in flames, which was eventually extinguished by a passer-by who wrapped his coat around her. In addition to receiving a very severe shock to the system, Mrs Stubbs sustained a number of dangerous burns, the lower portion of her apparel being entirely destroyed. She was conveyed to the hospital for treatment, .and expired at half-past eleven o’clock, death being the result of the shock to the nervous system. General sympathy is felt for Mr Stubbs, who has only been married about a year, and who is left with a baby two mouths old.
