SAVED FROM A BEAR.

GRiSTi Haven (Mich.), Nov. 16. Au unusually thrilling story of a hairbreadth escape on the part ot aa Indiana hunter is reported hero. Bears have become quite numerous in tne forests in the vicinity of Sullivan, a small lumber town on the Muskegon, on the Grand Rapids and Indiana Byroad, south east of Muskegon, so. much so that hunters have been attracted m thera this fall from all sections of the country. A party of Indiana hunters went in there laatweek, built camps, and settled down for a mouth's hunt. On Saturday last one of the party succeeded in starting a bear and two cubs from the 3 ungle, and after an hour or so overtook them on the edge of a clearing in which a small woodman's shanty was located. He carried a double-barrelled gun, and with it shot the two cubs dead in their trades.
