FOOTBALL.
TO THE EDITOE. Sib,—While reading in your valuable paper a report of the football match Darktown v. Union third fifteen, I was very much surprised Jo see the following: “In the match Darktown versus Geraldine Wanderers the Darktown were opposed, amongst other men, by Turnbull.” 1 can inform you that this is utterly incorrect, and I am at a loss to know who are the “ other men” referred to. Turnbull was on the ground, and at half time, on hearing that Darktown were one man short, expressed a wish to play for them (Darkton). He, however, never played for either team. This is the accurate state of matters, and by T inserting this in your next issue you will greatly oblige
R. R. Stoneiiouse, Captain Geraldine Junior Wanderers.
[We have received another letter on the same subject, but as it is to the same effect asjthe above we dont think it necessary to publish it,—Ed.]
