ADVICE TO FARMERS.
TO THH EDITOR.
g IRj —lo your sub-leader on Tuesday yon gave the farmers some very good advice, but in my opinion you did not go quite far enough. Allow me, therefore, to continue what yon so well bngan. You have advised them to go in largely with wheat growing, and to be ready »itha large supply next season, feeling confident that good prises will bo obtainable next year. But you did not tell them how best to do it, so I will. Use 2owt. of the Eclipse superphosphate to the »crc» antbe yield will be increased from 30 to'4B bushels to the acre. Thus an extra 18 bushels p r acra can be grown with tbe only additional cost of the manure, 13s, or say 12s per i ore when a quantity is required, and 18 basbels at a cost of only 8d per bushel sold at 4s gives a profit of £3 per acre, which is more than doubly Buftcion- to pay the expenses of harvesting, tbreshiog and delivery of tho whole crop, besides improving the land for tbe succeeding crop, as these manures, being rich in carbon, nitrogen and sulphate of lime, will by no means become exhausted in one year.—l am, etc., Francis Franks. Eclipse Bone Mills, Tern oka, April 20th, 1891.
