MOUNT PEEL ROAD BOARD.
The monthly meeting of the board was held in the road board office, Peel Forest, on Friday, the 17th inst. The members present were The Hon. J. B. A. Adand (chairman), Messrs C; GK Tripp, E. Thew, and J. GK Dennistoun.
The following correspondence was read and considered
From the Returning Officer, Geraldine Electoral District, requesting the use of the hoard’s office for a polling booth at the forthcoming election.— The request was granted. From Mr S. P. Andrews, inquiring whether the board would sell their stone-crushing machine, and on what terms. —The clerk was directed to supply the information required. Prom the Controller and AuditorGeneral, requesting the payment of £4*, cost of auditing the board’s accounts.—The account was passed for payment. Mr Dennistoun stated that in altering the course of the cyeek through his lapd he had continued the drain a few chains into the board’s paddock, and asked them to pay the cost of these few chains, as the alteration was of great benefit to the board’s property. —The board agreed to pay the ceat of the drain through their property. Accounts ameunting to £97 lls 9d were passed for payment. The board then adjourned.
