DRAUGHTS TOURNAMENT.
The draughts tournament which has been in progress ur Temuka fer the past eight weeks (playing one night a week) ia now the first prize having been won by Mr Sim, the only I who i started from scratch. The prizes will be given mostly in, draughts literature, and Ihev range in value from Xyman's Problem Bjok, 255, to .McCullock's Guide, 3s 6d. Although the scratch man won the system of handicapping adopted has succeeded admirably, and has resulted in several of the best Dlavers failing to obtain a place in the Ertee list. Mr H. Oldfield was referee, but bis duties have been light not one dispute or "knotty noint" occurring to require his attention during the tourney. # The Jollowing is the list of prize winners with their handicaps : J.
