THE LABOR TROUBLES.

London, Feb. 5. The carmen's Union, consisting of 14,000 men, and the Liverpool Irish and Sootch dockers, of 39,000 men, are amalgamating with the London dockers. Cardinal Manning is pndeavoring to prevent a strike of the wool laborers, who allege that they are suffering from sevefal grievances, BrookV wharf has joined the Berj mondsoy strikers. A small strike of wool laborers at the docks for the concession of higher pay for piecework caused a temporary stop. The placemen, irritated at the refusal to discharge non - unionist dockers, are debating for the abolition of meal times or the payment of an increased equivalent. Red Lion Wharf, South Dock, has locked out the men who refused to load. Hayes states that tho laborers of five of the largest wool warehouses will strike on Saturday uuless they are conceded the torms of the September geueral agreement. Tho officials of the Lightermen's Union, assisted by Lafone, Scrutton, and other wharfingers, have formed a co-operative union with a capital of £40,000 to undortako the lighterage of London, and abolish master-lightermen. Thirty-fiye out of 120 wharyea have joined the Employers' Union.
