THE LABOR REVOLT.

London, Nov. 28. Owing to the strike among the dock laborers, a section of the Australian shippers are arranging to send exports from Grimsby Docks, near the mouth of the river Humber, Lincoln. In consequence of foreigners being engaged in working British ships at Bristol, 7000 dock laborers have gone out on strike, Nov. 29. The colliers have intimated to the colliery proprietors that in January next they will demand an increase of 10 per cent, in wages, The owners have decided not to accede to the request, and a strike is imminent.

The miners’ conference at Newport has postponed its decision with regard to the Eight Hours Bill, which it has been decided to refer back to the districts interested.

The London dockers are organising a strike of dockers at Poole, in Dorsetshire, in which they are being assisted by the dockers of Grimsby and Hull, The Bristol strikers receive £ISOO weekly from the balance of the funds. The expenses of the recent dockers’ strike amounted to £4500, £2OO of which is not accounted for in detail. A balance-sheet will probably be issued on Tuesday. The motion, tabled by Mr Burns at the meeting of the strike executive, that the balance in the hands of the Dockers’ Union be applied for the purpose o£ maintaining their positions and relieving distress, has been carried. Ritchie, President of the Local Government Board, has refused to start relief works in order to assist the unemployed, but is willing that the Emigration Committee should be reappointed.
