RAUKAPUKA LICENSING COMMITTEE.
The annual meeting of the members of this committee' was held in the Courthouse, Geraldine, yesterday* Present —Major Moore, Messrs J.JM* Barker, W. B. Barker, and A. Macdonald. Mr J. M. Barker was elected chairman. MINUTES. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. EBPOET EEPOET. The police report upon the licensed houses in the district was read by the chairman, and considered satisfactory, with the exception of the Hilton Hotel, which needed painting outside. EENEWALS. Renewals were applied for as follows: — W. Wheelband, Rangitata Hotel; T. Clayton, Star of the South Hotel.-—Granted. The application of Mrs Jane Tindall for a renewal of the Hilton Hotel was held over till Saturday week, when the committee will meet and consider it. It was decided not to grant a conditional license for the Rangitata Bridge Racing Club. The fees and conditions were fixed the same as last year, and the committee then adjourned till Saturday week.
