DEATH THROUGH EXCITEMENT.
Melbourne, February 7,
A sudden death happened at Moona'tnbel under very painful circumstances, last week. A woman named Ann Morris, and her husband George Morris, were jointly charged by their son-in-law with stealing a £lO note out of his house, and summoned to appear at the court. Mrs Morris arrived there a little before the time, and went into a room to consult her solicitor. While in the act of replying to a question she fell forward on her face. She was immediately lifted away, and every effort made to restore her, but without avail. Dr. Roberts arriving from Avoca soon after examined her and pronounced life extinct. A magisterial inquiry was afterwards held, and the post-mortem examination showed that death was caused by the rupture of a valve of the heart, which in the opinion of the medical testimony might be caused by intense excitement. A verdict was returned accordingly.
