INTERVIEW. Mr J. H. Dean waited upon the Board stating that be had received notice, from the Licensing Bench to erect a water-trough in front of his Hotel for the convenience of travellers. If he had to do this it would be a great. inconvenience to him, as it would attract tbe cattle running about tbe township, thereby causing a great deal of filth; besides, he would have to carry all the water to the trough. In addition to this the trough would hare to be erected on the road, and would thereby lay the Board open to damages in the event of any person meeting with an accident through it. There would be a race running through the township shortly which would obviate tbe necessity of the trough. The Board decided that it was a matter for the Licensing Bench to deal with, and advised Mr Dean to attend the next meeting of that body, and ask the Bench to exempt him . from erecting the trough.
