James Ward, a miner, was killed at Try Again Terrace, Nelson Creek, on Friday afternoon. He was engaged turning off water when he overbalanced himself and fell into the creek below. Gopplestone’s bakery and shop at Leeston wers destroyed by fire on Thursday morning. The insurances amount to £2OO. The transactions of the Dunedin Savings Bank show an increase is deposits during the year of £37,363, and withdrawals £18,273.
