AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Melbourne, Oct. 19. Messrs Goldsbrough (Limited) held their usual weekly sale o£ wool to-day. Six thousand bales were catalogued, and there was a large attendance, including several English and foreign buyers. The various lots offered elicited excellent competition, especially in the case of good combing and superior lambs’ wool, in all 4300 bales finding purchasers. The prices realised were generally good. Greasy wool brought as much as 9£d per lb, pieces 7|d, and lambs’ wool lid.
