Geraldine—Tuesday, Mat 17, 1887. [Before. Captain Temple, A, H. Brisco, and R, H. Pearpoint, Esqs., J.P.’s.] •REACH OP TOWN BOARD BY-LAWS. John Dean was charged with allowing four head of cattle to wander at large within the Town District. Defendant did not appear. W. G. Sberratt, Ranger to the Town Board, proved the offence, and the defendant was fined 10s and eoste. Edward O’Brien was charged with allowing one horse to wander at large, and was fined 5s and costs. George Belem was fined 10s and costs for allowing two bead of cattle to wander at large. -J. McKay, for one horse, was fined 5s and costs. John Bark was charged with having a defective chimney on his premises, contrary to sections 7 and 8 of By-law No. 6 of the Geraldine Town Board.

Sherratt, Clerk to the Town Board, stated that defendant bad received a notice from himself in regard to tha chimney attached to his premises, but no notice had been taken of it, and be (witness) had been compelled to proceed farther in the matter, and a summons was consequently-issued. Since then the chimney had been taken down, but the case had to proceed. ! Defendant explained the premises were so highly mortgaged that be was under the impression be oonld not interfere with the property in any way. Be had received notice to take the chimney down two months ago, bat the weather bad been wet previous to his taking it down. Defendant was ordered to pay the costs incurred, but as the Board did not press for a fine to be inflicted it was addone, CIVIL OASES. G. 0. Jenkins v. G. Pischey—Claim £8 15s, for posts supplied at Peel Forest. Judgment was given for the amount claimed and costs. J. 8, Waite r. P. Farell—Claim £2 3s 3d. Plaintiff stated that ha had received 12s 6d on account on Saturday last. Judgment was given for the amount claimed with costs. Immediate execution was granted on plaintiff applying for it. E. Murphy f, R. Burnett—Claim £4 10s, balance of the value of a horse. Judgment was given for the amount claimed with costs. Plaintiff asked for immediate execution to be granted, which was done, lbs Court then adjourned,
