Oats—A modera'e amount of business has bean transacted during the week in these, an - J eveiy available chance for ahippiug eagerly seized, eipeoially for Australian ports. Pricea,s however, show bat little improvement. At the Burnside Yards on Wednesday the following business was transacted:— Fat Cattle.—2o3 were yarded; very few were prime, most of them being only ordinary quality. Quinn (Temuka), 4 bullocks at from £6l7a 6d to £7153, and 3 oows at £5 ss. Donald Reid aud Co. sold for Messrs McGoveiin and Hardy (The Hook, Waimate), 12 prime bullooks at £7. BVtSueep,—243s were penned, consisting ohufly ol crossbred sheep ; one small lot of merinos was yarded; all were from good to prime quality. £ ricei showed an advanoe of about Is per head on those of last week. London, May 7. The wheat markot is hardening owing to the prospect of a late harvest in England and on the Continent. The visible supply is decreasing.
