London, May 5. The Russian Press urge Russia to re-open the Eastern question while Ireland hampers England. Calcutta, May 4. The Indian papers to-day contain a report that the rebel Shinwarris have surrouuded the Ameer's troops at Jellalabud, and now hold the Kyber Pass and | adjacent hills. I St. Peterbsurg, May 1. An official meeting of the AngloRussian Commission for the delimitation of the Ru6SO-Afghan frontier was held to-day, and adjourned until Tuesday uext wi*bout any decision being arrived at. It is probable that Tuesday's sitting will be a final one. May 3. The St. Petersburg Gazatte, a Gor-j man paper published here, states that it is improbable that an agreement will be arrived at between the British and Russian Commissioners for the settlement of the details of the proposed rectification of the Afghan frontier, as the representatives of both Powers are disinclined to yield certain points which are in dispute.
