AUCTIONEERS' REPORTS. ASHBUETOW. Mr E. G. Staveley (for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company) reports on the Asbburton stock sales on Tuesday as follows : Sheep—About 2500 sheep, ami 200 cuttle were yarded. Guinness' (for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company Limited) reports for the week ended Saturday, Oct.'2nd, 1886,' as follows: , , Wheat—The wheat market has lately improved and prices are decidedly firmer. Prime* milling samples are at present worth 4s 6d, at which price we have placed a few lines. North Island millers are in the market as purchasers of velvet;,and ' Tuscan wheat. Barley—very; little business, has been done, in, this cereal. We have placed a fijw lines for' malting at 2s lOd, and seed 3s, ex store. ' Oats—Sales arc difficult to effect, and as the Australian markets offer no iuducement ! to ship, prices may be quoted fully one half-penny 1 lower than last month. We quote .bright heavy willing at 2s 2d to 2s 5d ; stout feed, 2s Id to 2s 2d ; bright Danish, or Tartars, 2s to 2s Id ; discolored Is lOd to 2s, f.o.b. ~ . Flour—Tbi3 continues in active demand, and although our mills are working double time'stocks are very light, in fact barely sufficient to meet orders. Present quotations are, sacks,' £ll per ton ; 100's. £ll 10s per ton ; 50's, £ll 15b per ton, f.o.b. Bran-—The quotation for bran i 6 £4 10s per ton, f.o.b. Pollard—Present price is £5 per ton, f.o.b. Potatoes They are in plentiful supply, and difficult to quit. Quotations are, 40s to 5Cs per ton, f,0,b., bags in.
