The Stark Purchase Oommisiion is making arrangements for opening the inqmiry next Monday. Indignation is expressed at Auckland at the action of the Government in accepting the resignation of Mr H. M. Brewer, land purchase agent. Advices from Samoa state that the International Conference on the subject of the government of that country is holding its sittings, but the nature of the business has not been allowed to transpire. The American flag has been hauled down from over the Samoan flag, which is now flying alone. H.M.S. Miranda has left Samoa and gone to Fiji.
