The following further appointments to the Salisbury Ministry haye been definitely announced -.—-Lord Chancellor for Ireland, Lord Ashbourne; Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, Lord John Manners; Attorney-General, Sir R. Everard Webster; PostmasterGeneral, Mr Henry Cecil Raikes ; Chief Commissioner of Works, Mr David Robt. Plunkett; Secretary for Scotland, Mr Arthur James Balfour; Secretary of I State for Home Department, Mr Henry Matthews. It is expected that the Earl of Dunraven will be Under-Secretary for the Colonies. It is announced that Viscount Cranbrook has been appointed Lord President of the Council. A hitch has occurred in connection with the formation of the new Ministry. The Marquis of Salisbury is experiencing a difficulty in fi'ling the remaining portfolios, owing to the claims of Sir Richard Cross to an important office.
