CHRISTCHURCH STOCK MARKETS. At the Addington Yards on Wednesday fairly large entries of stock to hand 5 attendance of buyers about an average one. Fat Cattle—The rather small supply was barely sufficient for requirements ; quality a little above the average, demand fairly keen. Clearances made at about late rates, viz., 18a to 20s per 1001 b. Steers sold at from £5 to £8 5s ; heifers, £4 15s to £7 2s fid. Fat Sheep—A fairly heavy entry; quality from medium to prime; demand pretty fair, but irregular; last sales abouf maintained. Crossbred wethers sold at from 10s fid to 14s 3d for prime ; medium, 8s fid to 10s ; crossbred ewes, from 8s to 13s 3d ; merino wethers; from 8s to 12a 3d—an average of, say, 2d per lb- A few store sheep were penned, but none were quitted at auction, most lines sold privately before public sale. Store Cattle—Not a large entry—demand nof over brisk. A line of three : year-old sfeers io fresh condition sold at £5 per head, a line of tworyear-olds at £3 ss, and a line of two-year-old heifers at £2 12s fid. Dairy market dull. A large entry of pigs on offer —baconers were iu pretty fair demand, selling at from 24a to 40s per head ; porkers, from 16s to 23s ; stores almost unsaleable, CHRISTCHURCH'" CORN EXCHANGE. Pearl has an excellent local demand for milling at 4s Id to 4s 2d. Hunter’s has more sellers at 3s lid to 4s. Second quality ranges from 3s 9d to 3s lid, and chicken wheat from 3s fid to 8s Bd. Oats—Milling lines are not oyer plentiful, and are firmly held at 2s fid. Stout short feed have ah ordinary sale at 2s 4d, and good heavy Danish are taken up at 2s 3£d,- Long and inferior sorts are quiet at 2s to 2s 2d, cereal atill remains exceedingly quiet. Buyers are indifferent, and sellers are prepared to hold. Quotalions remain nominal. Malting, prime, 3s to 3s 3d ; second quality, 2s 9d to 2s lOd ; feed, enquired for at 2s 4d to 2e fid. jj Beans and Peas—Only occasional sales can be noted at 3s to 3s 3d for beans and

Potatoes —On account of the largo quantities offering, buyers have reduced • heir prices, and at the moment it is difficult to obtain over 60s at Country Stations, but as soon as the needy growers have quited, we expect a better market. Dairy Produce—The prices are without alteration, and business is of a limited nature. The above prices are for delivery f.o.b, Lyttelton. DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKETS. The following is the report for the week ending Wednesday Wheat—Owing to the limited quantity offering only moderate business has been done. Holders of the few lots still unsold continue firm, and judging by ihe tone of reports of the state of the markets north, their position appears to he good. Prime milling velvet and Tuscan, 4s 8d to 4s Sd ; medium, 4s 6d to 4s 7d ; best red straw, 4s 6d to 4s 8d ; medium, 4s 2d to 4s 54; inferior and whole fowls’ feed, 3s 6d to 4s Id (ex ftore, bags weighed in) ENGLISH MARKETS. London, July 28. Breadstuff's—Adelaide wheat,ex store, per 49611)8, 34s 6.1 ; New Zealand wheal, do, 28s to 32a 6d, according to grade.
