At tbe criminal peasious to-day, Alex. Laurence, the late teller of the City Melbourne Bank, wag found guilty of embezzling the funds of the Bank, and was sentenced to two years' imprisonment, April 1.

The quarterly returni published today show the total revenue for the pa-t three months to be £1,780,000, being ai increase on the corresponding quarter of last year of £102,000.
