The letter further stated that Mr Talbot had seen the Inspector, Dr'Anderson, and be favored the appointment, and suggested that Miss F. Brown might lake up the position now held by her sister.—The Chairman remarked that no communication had been received from the Board of Education or from Miss Brown on the subject but as the letter was from the Chairman of the Rangitira Valley Committee, who was also a member of the Board, there was little doubt but that it was all right.—Mr Gray thought there would be no loss to the Committee were the suggestion complied with.—The Chairman remarked that lie did not think the Committee should go outside the school for a teacher, when there might be one already in the school prepared to take up the work,—After a little more conversation, Mr Gray moved, Mr Blyth seconded, and it was carried: “That a letter be written to Mr Talbot informing him that this Committee are willing to accede to his request as soon as the necessary arrangements can be made.” From the Board of Education, stating the Revs. Geo. SCHOOL REQUISITES,

A letter was read from Mr Bryars r« school requisites. The Chairman said it appeared to him that if parents did not extend more support to the Committee in the way of stationery fees the Commilt®J?would have to stop supplying the children with pens, pencils, etc. The returns were looked up, and it was found that the fees received had fallen off considerably during the last two quarters, the amount for the last quarter being remarkably srpall. It was pointed out that the sum each child was expected to contribute, viz., 6d per quarter, was very small, and after some further cosideration the subject dropped, it being understood that if parents do not send more money for this purpose the Committee will revert to the old system of requiring the children to pro"ids themselves with pens, ink and stationery.
