DUNEDIN STOCK MARKETS.

At the Burnside Yards on Wednesday the following business was transacted : Fat Cattle—Only 127 head were yarded for the week's supply, representing all qualities. Although a sinall number, owing to the trade being well supplied there was an absence of spirit in the biding, and no apparent improvement in the prices obtained. Best bullocks brought £7 10s to £9, one pen up to £10; ordinary, £4 10s to £7 ; and cows in proportion.—Mr D. Stronaeh sold on account of Mr M. Studholme (Wiiimate), cows to £7.—Mr L-. Maclean sold for Mr T. Rickman (Waimate), 7 cows from £3 10s to £6 28 6d.—Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. sold for Mr R. A. Barker (Orari), 7 cows at from £5 5s to £7 17» 6d. Fat Sheep—l 263 were penned. Of these 150 were merino ewes and wethers, ordinary quality ; the balance crossbreds, fair to good and prime quality. This number proved quite equal to trade requirements. The market, however, was cleared only at a very alight advance, if any, on last week's prices. Best crossbred wethers brought 9s to 10s ; medium, 7s 6d to 8s 6d ; best do ewes, 7s to 8s ; ordinary, 5s 6d to 6s 6*l ; merino wethers, 5s to 5s 3d ;do ewes, 4s 6d.~Mr Donald Stronaeh sold for Mr A. Fit Lambs—ss4 wore penned, mostly inferior, for which there was very little demand. A few pens prime quality brought better prices, the range being from 3a to 9a. pj gB _7B forward, all useful porkers. There was raiher brisker demand, prices advancing 5s to 7s a bend, the range being 22s to 39a, and for suckers 3s 6d to 10a.

Horse Market Messrs Wright, Stephenson, and Co. report as follows : _ The entries for last Saturday's sale numbered 93, made up chiefly of light-harness and saddle horses of the commoner sort. Over 50 head changed hands, but prices for the descriptions iust named were in favor of buyers. Good young heavy 5 draughts and first-class hacks and light-harness horses continue not over-abundant. This week (he Waihora took 20 superior draughts to Melbourne, and the Wakatipu 90 of different descriptions direct to Brisbane. We quote first-claws draughts at from £24 to £3O ; medium, £l4 to £2O ; first-class hacks and light harness horses, £lB to £25 ; medium, £lO to £ls ; inferior, £3 to £7. .
