London, Dec. 10. The Anglo-Australasian Land and Mortgage Company, with a capital of L 600,000, has amalgamated with a similar company at Sydney. Negotiations tor the amalgamation was carried out here by Mr George Waddell. Melbourne, Dec. 11. In the Legislative Assembly last night, the Electoral Bill, which provides for additional ten members to the Assembly, was read a first, second, and third time. The question of redistribution has been postponed until next session. It announced that the Government do not intend to proceed with the prosecution of Joseph Symes, the Freethought lecturer. The Victorian Parliament was prorogued to-day by His Excellency Sir Henry Loch, who, in a speech, expressed regret that the Federal Enabling Bill had not passed. Dec. 12.
