It is essentially a LOCAL PAPER, devoted to the interests of the district. It is impossible for the papers published in large centres ef population to pay the same attention to the requirements of the district as it does. It has given its advocacy to EVERY MOVEMENT for the ADVANCEMENT OF THE DISTRICT. It has never been known to take the side ef the Strong against the Weak. While it has upheld the Rights of Working Men, it has always retognised the Rights of Property. The farmers of this district have found it an ARDENT ADVOCATE for RELIEF being given to them from the burden of a USURIOUS RATE OP INTEREST. The scheme of a NATIONAL BANK—originated in its columns, and consistently advoealed by it—has now been taken up in Parliament, and if it passes GREAT BENEFITS will acerue from it. On these grounds the Proprietor bases his claim for support, and he trusts he will not be disappointed. The Reduced Price will date from the Ist of July last.
