Messrs Jonas and Bourn report for the past week ending Saturday as follows : Next to the Agricultural end Pastoral Association’s Show the most important event in (he month of October is always flic sale of horses that takes place on the .-lay after tho Show. As usual their entries comprised some of the host draught stock in Canterbury, am? the »*k of Mr Robert Matthews’and Mr KoUvi Davies’ mares attracted a largo number ot breeders, while Captain Bay ley's, M. Waters’, and other owners’ entries of really good draught geldings drew man who required good teams to the sa’e. M; Matthews, who had priority of place in right of early entry, brought lorward Helen McGregor, a very handsome mare <mt of Violet by G!e*Toy, eliciting an instantaneous offer of IhO guineas.
