AUCTIONEER'S JREPOKT.

TIMARXr. Messrs Maclean and Stewart report for the past week ending Saturday- as follows : Horses There is little l demand at present for horses,' and prices are extremely low, and unless good horses are put in the market, there is little chanct of doing business. To-day they bad' a small entry of about 25, of which they sold 12 at for medium draughts from £l2 to £l4. They sold for Mr Meikle his steeplechase horse, Ben H., to Mr Miles, at £39.

Sheep—At their TVashdyke free yards last Tuesday, a fair number of store sheep caw to band. They placed a small lot of lambs at 12s 7d. At Winchester last Thursday they sold 520 crossbred ewes and wethers at 10a, 300 merino ewes at 3s 2d, and privately during the week they sold a line of about 750 merino withers at a »atfnfactory price. Fat sh<jep—At auction and privat Iy they have placed several lines of fat orcHHhred* at from 12s to 12a 6d, or equal to about 2d per lb. . Cattle -At Studholme Junction monthly sale last Monday they placed a small line of steers and heifers at £4 10s. On Thursday, at Winchester, they sold wellforward steers at £7, and on Tuesday; at Washdyke, one or two pen* of heifers were sold at £3 10s. Fat cattle are worth from 15s to 17s 6d per 100. b—at that quotation they have koM several lots.
