THE BLUE RIBBON ARMY.

The Chairman, ,then introduced Mr Barker, of Peel Porest, who gave an interesting account of the Conference recently held in-Christchurch.. He then discussed at considerable length the temperance movement, and said it was a struggle for homeland for country, and for God. He treated the subject from a political point of view, and also pointed out its moral' influence 'em' society, and urged the necessity of total Abstinence. His address was spiced with racy anecdotes, which* Created much laughter, and at the close he was loudly applauded. After the meeting had concluded in the usual way, 23 * new members were' enrolled.' .
