AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS. CHEISTCHTIECII. Messrs Robert Wilkin and Co. report : —At the Addington yards on Wednesday a very scanty supply of fat sheep came to hand. Quite two-thirds comprised merino weathers, and only a small proportion of which were prime and good quality. Owing to the supply being short of the requirements of the trade, competiwas animated, and sales were effected readily at a satisfactory advance on last week’s rates. Fat cattle—Medium supply yarded, prime pen of bullocks made an average of 25s per XOOlbs, while second and inferior pens sold at an average of 20s per lOOlbs. The total entries for the day comprised 4231 sheep, 251 head of cattle, and 125 pigs, of which we quitted on behalf of various clients prime and good crossbreds from 15a 6d to 17s 3d, fat steers at £8 each. At our sheepskin sale on Thursday our catalogue comprised 1673 skins, which wo disposed of at a slight increase of prices compared with last week’s rates. The lots offered were principally butchers’ skins, only a small proportion being from the country. We sold butchers’ crossbreds at 4s 6d, 4s Bd, 4s lOd, 5s 2d to 5s 7d, the latter price being realised for an exceptionally heavy lot of first class, crossbred skins ; butchers’ merinos 4s 7d, 4s 9d, 4s lOd to 5s 2d ; for a line of Mr 0 Bearing’s country crossbreds Is Bd, 2s Gd, 3s, 3s lOd, 4s 8d to 5s ; country merinos Is lid, 2s sd, 3s, 3s Bd, 4s, 4s 6d to 5s 4d. Fat—■We sold 58 bags at from 2d per lb up to 2|d for clean, well saved fat from the country. Hides and calfskins same as last week. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Melbourne, Sept, 12. Shipping wheat is quoted at 4s lOd to 4s lid, The market is steady. Malting barley is in fair demand, and uo change in prices occurred during the week. New Zealand oats are worth 3s to 3s 2d. The market has a slight improved tendency, ENGLISH MARKETS. London, Sept. 11. At the wool auction to-day 10,000 bales were catalogued, and fair demand was experienced. Ihe New Zealand Loan and Mercantile'Agency Company, Limited, have

received the following telegram, dated London, September. 11th Wool Market nncliangcd. Up to date 175,C00 bales have boon sold ; 79,000 bales have been taken for export. Wheat —The market quiet. New Zealand is worth 44s per 4961b5, f.a.q. ; off coast is worth, c.i.f., 41s per 4801bs. Weather unsettled. Tallow Market quiet. Mutton is worth 42s Gd,,. and beef 41s per cwt. Frozen meat—Final average of lonic shipment is 6-|d per lb. Sept. 12.

Adelaide wheat is unchanged at 47s ex store, and New Zealand do at 42s Gd to 4Gs. Adelaide flour ex warehouse is worth 335. Australian tallow—Best beef, 40s ; best mutton, 41s. The catalogue at to-day’s wool sale comprised 13,200 bales. A good demand was experienced for the various lots offered.
