Melbourne, April 15. The sugar market is firm The Hon. James Service, Premier, addressed his const! uents last night. In the course of his address he said that his programme would be unchanged. The question of the reform of thv Constitution would be the first introduced in Parliament. He was confident his measure would be. carried through during the coming Session, Mr Service intimated that a further reinstatement of “ Black Wednesday” vioiims would be made in instances where the dismissial were proved to have been unjust. Adelaide, April 15. The South A ustra’ian Parliament will meet for the despatch of business on the 21st of May. Sydney April 15. The C-ity of Sydney has arrived from Auckland A destructive fire occurred at Bathurst last night. The flames were only mastered after great exertion. The Legislative Council has thrown out the Bill introduced by Sir Alfred Stephens, to restrict its powers. Alex. Stewart. Esq., Agent-Genara in London for New South Wales, has resigned in consequence of private affairs requiring that he should remain in the colony. ' Mr Hunger-ford has resigned his seat in the Assembly. The exhibition closes on Tuesday next which has been proclaimed a public holiday. Messrs Cohen Brothers have called a meeting of their creditors. Their liabilities are set down at L38?000, and assets at L 40,000. Melbourne April 15 . Considerable anxiety is felt concernthe ship Iron Duke, now 116 days out and no signs of her arrival. She left London on December 21st. Portions of the clothing of the young men who went shooting of Wairarapa Lake have been found, which leaves little doubt hut that their possessors were drowned. Micheal Simeon, a member of the Armed Constabulary stationed in Opunake, has been left a fortune of nearly L 50,000 by a relative in the South Island.
