The minutes of she last meeting were read uud confirmed. DEPUTATIONS. Mr Wood intervifwed the Board in reference to a former replication, about a road or i ridge at Mihord, leading to his secion. Jtego'vetl that the Surveyor see Mr Oldheld on the matter, and report. Mr Bissett asked to h»ve some iop.-y.rs done to the first section of Stewart's road. Ordered that the work be done on certain conditions. CORRESPONDENCE. From the AshUirton County Council re Eaisgiti'.ta Bridge payment. Ordered to be paid, and that they be refertei! to tho Genddine County Council for payment in the future. From the Bank of N.Z., Temuka, advising tho Board that deposit receipt for £"2.000 matures on the 21st int. Ordered that the. amonnt be passed to the District Fund / econnt. From Mr John Lnwson, poundkeeper, agreeing to collect poun 1 fees, and asking information as to charges. He was instructed to clnrgo for ever}'tbing yarded. From a number of residents, requesting that Allnutt street footpaths be formed. Ordered that the Surveyor report on same by next Board day. From Mr La\vson,requestieg some hoards for additions to pound property.—Granted From Mr Brown, re shingling of Davie and Cass streets. Reselved that former decision bo adhered to. From Butler and Devan, asking for an extension of time of two months to complete their contract. —Granted. From S. Sibley, asking for deposit on his contract to be refunded. Former decision of the Coord adhered to. DEPUTATIONS. From severe,! Mam-is, applying for compensation for using their land for the pubic traffic v\,i\Q the bridge was being repaired. , Resolved that, as the Board had compo: anted Mr Norton for the same, the Maoris were recommended to apply to him on the subject. Mr Colville attended to ask tho Board for compensation through loss of t-'me, in consequence of not bein&j supplied wiih timber by the Board. Mr McColl interviewed <3io Board, and complained that tise Surveyor would not grant a payment on accnunt of the work ho web carrying out fcr a cenh'aetor named Kennedy. It appeared, .lie.t Kennedy had sub-let tho work to tho applicant, so the Board decided tttat they could i'ot entertain the application. The Clerk was instructed to make a copy of each chain against those interested in Holiesteu's drain. It was ordered that legal opinion be obtained by next Board day re Low's ca.so. sjuvivvor's itsror/r.

fho Surveyor's report having been road, the following works were agreed to . That the footpaths in Denmark street be shingled and formed. That the drain requested by Mr 8.-ulham lobe made bo ag.e d. to, on condition thr.t Mr Badham contribute 20 per cent of the cost.
